Collegiate Peaks Trail Race

Beautiful trail race in Buena Vista (25 or 50 mile). I wonder where they got the name.

This was Sean's first trail race of the season in preparation for the Leadville 100 in August.  I tried to register, but the race was sold out, so I went for a 23 mile photo shoot/run instead.

I met two new trail running friends along the way.  They joined me after I ran by their house. One of them even ran 10 miles with me. 

 Here is Sean at approximately mile 18 or 19.  He was still smiling as usual and my plans to run with him to the finish were foiled by my fatigue and his lack there of.

Overall: The race started at 8000 feet of elevation and peaked at 9400 feet at mile 18 or 19.  It was a beautiful well organized race on an awesome course.
